Parking Options in PragueZero-emission vehicles

From 1 January 2026, the rules for parking electric cars have changed

On the basis of a Prague City Council Resolution, free parking for vehicles with EL series registration plates (low-emission vehicles, especially hybrids) ended as of 1 January 2026.Parking fees for zones will now apply to all vehicles, so don’t forget to apply for a permit in time!

From the same date, zero-emission vehicles will be eligible for a 50% discount on long-term and short-term parking.

  • Starting 1 December 2025, it is possible to apply for a discounted long-term parking permit for vehicles that fall under this category. In order to have the discount applied, it is important that the vehicle be registered – if it isn’t, send an application to Vehicle Registration, then sign in to the Client Zone and apply for a parking permit in the standard manner.
  • To have the discount applied to short-term parking, the vehicle needs only to be registered.

Zero-emission vehicles registered in the Czech Road Vehicle Register are automatically registered in the system, and data on these vehicles is regularly updated. New entries from the Register are loaded into the system with a delay of several days. You can check whether your vehicle is registered for a discount using the Registration check.

How do I get a discount on long-term parking?

Starting 1 December 2025, you can apply for a long-term parking permit for a zero-emission vehicle that has already been registered via the Client Zone or at a parking permit office. The discount is applied automatically when applying for a parking permit. If your vehicle has not been registered, register it via the Registration Form.

How do I get a discount on short-term (visitor) parking?

Starting 1 January 2026, a 50% discount will automatically be applied to the parking fee in all paid parking zones if the licence plate number is on record in the system. If your vehicle is not registered, register it via the Registration Form.

The discount is only provided online – parking machines on the street do not provide a discount. You can find more information in the section Online payment methods.
