Frequently asked questions on the topic
I make deliveries in an area with parking zones in place
The new parking zone complex includes what are called "delivery boxes", which are distinguished from the usual blue, purple and orange sections by a P – RESERVÉ traffic sign. It is also recommended deliveries be made outside the parking zone hours.
Parking permits for natural persons running a business, legal persons and property owners are also currently issued for these purposes. These parking permits cannot be used in "delivery boxes".
I am a caregiver for a loved one. Can I apply for a parking permit?
Caregiver parking permits are for caregivers (general family members) who are not permanent residents in the given area and who take care of the basic needs of a person in need of care.
The holder of the parking permit is a citizen with permanent residence in the given area who has reached the age of 80 or who has been granted a care allowance of at least level III and who is also not a holder of a resident parking permit. The permit is issued for a max. of 3 vehicles and for at most 5 parking sub-zones.
I am physically disabled and a holder of a ZTP card
There are "shared spots" for ZTP card holders in Prague reserved for the needs of those with physical disabilities. These are at sites where an increased presence of physically disabled persons can be expected. Parking in these spots is free for vehicles marked with an O7 parking permit. Holders of a ZTP card have the right to a discount rate for a Resident Parking Permit and a Parking Permit for ZTP Holders (document only available in Czech). Physically disabled citizens with permanent residence in a given area can also apply for a reserved parking spot (i.e. for a specific vehicle registration plate). These spots are established for a specific vehicle in accordance with Section 25 of Act No. 13/1997 Coll. on Roads and are exempt from paying a local fee for use of public space (more info here: Application for a reserved parking spot contract for a physically disabled person)

Do electric and hybrid vehicles have any advantages in the paid parking zone system?
Electric vehicles pay no fees and can park in mixed/purple and resident/blue zones for free as long as they meet the conditions in this document here (document only available in Czech).
New registration of hybrid vehicles under the original conditions is no longer possible.
All electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered vehicles and hybrid vehicles (with a CO2 emission value in combined traffic of no more than 50 g/km) can park in mixed and resident paid parking zones for free. The condition is having an "EL" series registration plate (Section 7b (6) of Act No. 56/2001 Coll.) or a valid Electric Vehicle Parking Permit (more information here).

The parking machine rejected my card payment, what should I do?
If payment of the parking fee in a parking machine by card does not go through properly for some reason and the payment is not made, it will not be charged either, thus no money will be taken from the account. If the amount is displayed in the payment reservations or account movements, it is still not a reason to panic or file a claim.
For any claim that needs to be filed, it is recommended that you wait for your bank statement and only if the payment is truly charged and drawn from your bank account, then contact us on the helpline or by e-mail.
The virtual parking meter doesn't save the payment card information on iOS devices.
Some mobile internet browsers (e.g. Safari, Chrome) allow you to browse websites in a "privacy mode". In this mode, the storing of certain information is generally restricted, so it may occur that it is not possible to save your payment card info, password or email address. We recommend checking whether your browser has anonymous mode turned on (according to the instructions of the internet browser you are using).
Setting up and using the virtual parking meter is only possible with anonymous mode turned off.
How many parking permit offices are there and where are they found?
Permit offices are set up in every municipal district that has parking zones. There are thus multiple sites for issuing parking permits, at least one per district where zones have been established. The addresses and opening hours of these offices can be found here or directly on the municipal district websites.
Do the new parking machines issue proof of payment (for corporate accounting purposes)?
Yes, all equipment, including parking machines, comply with ČSN 12 414 and issue a simplified tax document on the price paid for parking, which naturally must meet the requirements of a simplified tax document.
