Frequently asked questions on the topic
How many parking permit offices are there and where are they found?
The issuing offices are the departments for issuing parking permits for the municipal districts where ZPS (Paid Parking Zones) have been implemented.
The addresses and opening hours of these offices can be found here or directly on the municipal district websites.
I make deliveries in an area with parking zones in place
Delivery takes place in the so-called delivery boxes, which are distinguished from the regular blue, purple and orange paid parking zones by the vertical traffic sign P – RESERVÉ, which is supplemented by an additional table with the text "Zásobování".
If the location of the delivedy boxes does not suit you, it is also possible to park directly in the paid parking zone after paying for a short-term parking permit. In the case of purple and orange zones, you can make a payment via a parking machine or you can use one of the online payment methods that will allow you to pay the parking fee in the blue zone as well.
It is also possible to delivery outside the operating hours of the paid parking zone. Long-term parking permits for delivery purposes are not issued.
I am a caregiver for a loved one. Can I apply for a parking permit?
A caregiver parking permit serves for a caregiver (generally a family member) who does not have permanent residence in the given zone and who provides for the basic needs of the person being cared for.
The holder of the parking permit is a citizen with permanent residence in the given area who has reached the age of 80 or who has been granted a care allowance of at least level III and who is also not a holder of a resident parking permit. The permit is issued for a max. of 3 vehicles and for at most 5 parking sub-zones.
I am physically disabled and a ZTP card holder. Where can I park?
There are "shared spots" for ZTP card holders in Prague reserved for the needs of those with physical disabilities. Parking in these spots is free for vehicles marked with an O7 parking permit. ZTP card holders are entitled to a Parking Permit for ZTP Holders (document only available in Czech) for a reduced price. Physically disabled citizens with permanent residence in a given area can also apply for a reserved parking spot (i.e. for a specific vehicle registration plate). These spots are established for a specific vehicle in accordance with Section 25 of Act No. 13/1997 Coll. on Roads and are exempt from paying a local fee for use of public space (more info here: Application for a reserved parking spot contract for a physically disabled person)

What is a zero-emission vehicle?
A zero-emission motor vehicle is defined as a vehicle powered exclusively by electricity or hydrogen.
Please note: An EL-series licence plate does not automatically entitle one to a discount (discount does not apply to hybrid vehicles).
Why is it necessary for zero-emission vehicles to be registered?
In order to be able to apply a 50% discount to long-term and short-term parking for a zero-emission vehicle, it must be registered in the system. Vehicles registered in the Czech Republic before 19 November 2025 do not need to undergo this process. You can check whether your vehicle has been registered for a discount with Check Registration.
Can the discount be claimed for vehicles with an EL-series licence plate?
Vehicles with an EL-series licence plate do not automatically qualify for the discount. Not all vehicles with these plates are powered exclusively by electricity or hydrogen; some for example are hybrid vehicles. You can check whether your vehicle has been registered for a discount with Check Registration.
Which long-term parking permits are eligible for the discount?
Eligibility for the long-term parking discount applies to residents (persons with a permanent residence), subscribers (persons running a business, companies with a registered office or branch), and property owners. More information can be found in the applicable sections of the Methodology for issuing of long-term parking permits (only CZ version).
How do I apply my discount to long-term parking?
If you are requesting a discount for long-term parking and your vehicle has already been registered, sign in to the Client Zone and the discount will be applied automatically when you submit an application for a parking permit. If your vehicle has not yet been registered, register it via the Registration Form and apply for a parking permit immediately thereafter. These applications will be processed by the parking permit issuing office together.
Can a permanent registration plate change be made for a discounted long-term parking permit?
A permanent change is possible in the following cases:
- You are applying for a permanent change from a vehicle not eligible for a discount to a zero-emission vehicle. In this case, the zero-emission vehicle discount will not be taken into account and the price difference will not be refunded. If the difference is significant, we recommend terminating your original parking permit at Parking permit issuing office and applying for a new one with the discount.
- You are applying for a permanent change from one zero-emission vehicle to another (i.e. both vehicles are eligible for the discount). You can check whether the vehicle is registered for the discount with the Check Registration service. If your new vehicle is not yet registered, register it using the Registration Form.
A permanent change is not possible if your are applying for a change from a zero-emission vehicle to a vehicle not eligible for the discount. Here it is necessary to terminate the original permit at Parking permit issuing office and apply for a new one for the standard price.
How do I apply my discount to short-term (visitors) parking?
If you are applying for a discount for short-term parking and the vehicle has already been registered, use the Online Parking Machine or one of the other Online Payment Methods. If the vehicle plate number is already registered in the system, a 50% discount will be deducted from the fee automatically. If your vehicle has not yet been registered, register it via the Registration Form.
After registering successfully, the discount can be applied in all Paid Parking Zones in Prague.
Please note: Parking machines on the street do not provide the discount.
How do I submit an application to register a zero-emission vehicle?
If your vehicle plate is not registered (Check Registration), proceed as follows.
On the Vehicle Registration form:
- fill in the vehicle’s licence plate number and choose the country
- for the Czech Republic, enter the number of the ORV (vehicle registration certificate, sometimes called the “technical licence”) and upload its first page as an attachment
- for other countries, enter the ORV number, VIN, and fuel type, and upload the pages of the ORV that contain those items (typically both pages of the ORV)
- enter your e-mail to receive notifications on the state of your application (optional)
- check off the reCAPTCHA verification and click the Submit button
As soon as we verify your application (it can take roughly 5 working days), we will send a notification to the provided e-mail address. If you do not provide an e-mail address, you can check the state of your application with Check Registration.
A registration application for a zero-emission vehicle can also be submitted at any Parking permit issuing office.
How do I register a zero-emission vehicle registered in the Czech Republic?
Vehicles with a Czech licence plate that had been entered in the vehicle register before 19 November 2025 do not need to be registered again. You can check whether a vehicle is registered for a discount using Check Registration.
How do I register a zero-emission vehicle registered abroad?
For foreign licence plates, registration using the form is required to obtain a discount. Thus it is always necessary to attach the vehicle registration certificate (“technical licence”) with the registration number, VIN, type of fuel and licence plate number. If the certificate does not include English, we ask for a certified translation to be attached. You can check whether a vehicle has been registered for the discount using Check Registration.
How can I find out if my registration has been successfully completed?
You can check whether your vehicle has been registered on the list of low-emission vehicles using Check Registration. If you provided an e-mail address when registering, you will receive a notification by e-mail.
